On February 27, 2025, our firm’s lawyers, Marko Moilanen and Kimmo Suominen, had the privilege of attending the one and only Polar Bear Pitching event in Oulu. This distinctive event, where entrepreneurs present their ideas while taking the plunge into an ice hole, exemplifies the spirit of innovation and resilience.

We were amazed by the courage of the participants, some of whom traveled from as far as Los Angeles and Tokyo to take part in this extraordinary event. The atmosphere was electric, filled with inspiring pitches and great conversations.

A huge thank you to the BusinessOulu organizers for putting together such an unforgettable event. Oulu once again proved that innovation knows no limits – not even freezing water!

For those who are not familiar, Polar Bear Pitching is more than just a pitching competition. It includes a day’s conference, fun outdoor activities during the Avanto Competition, and an afterparty. This event has become a global phenomenon, with satellite events held in countries like Japan, Germany, and Norway.
